Now we’re just one small fish, in a bloody massive pond. In fact, we wouldn’t even register as a fish. We’re more frogspawn compared with the blue whales when it comes to companies in the huge world of global capitalism. But while the pressure does really need to be piled on to the huge FMCG that flood our homes and waterways with their plastic products, there’s no reason why this little piece of frogspawn here shouldn’t be doing their best to clean the pond too.
So, one of our missions here at The Flora Lab is to be as kind as possible to the environment. Now, this isn’t easy, and we’re by no means perfect, but we’ve made a commitment to ensure that all of our postal packaging is plastic free, choosing to use recyclable, biodegradable and reusable products wherever possible. We also choose to work with suppliers with a similar mindset.
We’ve compiled a little list of our packaging, so you can see the choices we have made to have a smaller impact on the planet.
All Paper: All of our paper is made from 100% recycled sources (with many of your food bins playing a part).
Cardboard Shipping Boxes: All of our cardboard is recyclable, reusable and staple free.
Glassine Bags: Housing your tealights, wax melts and any samples, these wax free, biodegradable bags can be easily recycled or composted.
Starch based packing peanut nuggets: These wonderful packing chips are made from potato starch. Either re-use them in your own parcel packing, pop them in your compost bin- or you can even watch as they dissolve under the stream of your tap.
Packaging tape: FSC certified and plastic free, this tape can go straight into your recycling bin.
Document Wallets: Containing all your customs information, these wallets are plastic free and biodegradable.
Candles jars: There's a million ways to upcycle these containers, we'd love to see yours
Ribbons: Our ribbons on our gift boxes are 100% cotton and are perfect to re-use.
There are other changes we’re working on in the background, but we really need your support to make this happen.
Got an idea or are you a packaging supplier who wants to be part of The Flora Lab’s story? Why not drop us an email.

Team Flora x
